Actually, a video of Madhavi Lata misbehaving with some Muslim women voters wearing burqa at a booth had surfaced. In this, Madhavi is seen forcing Muslim women to show their identity cards and their faces.
A case has been registered against Madhavi Lata under sections 171C, 186, 505(1)(c) of the IPC and section 132 of the Representation of the People Act at Malakpet police station in Hyderabad. Today, amid voting, a video of BJP candidate Madhavi Lata is going viral on social media, in which she is seen checking the identity cards of Muslim women at a booth and forcing them to show their faces.
After the video went viral, Hyderabad District Collector and District Magistrate Anudeep Durishetty (who is also the returning officer of Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency) said that a case has been registered against Madhavi Lata. Madhavi Lata has a direct contest with AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi, who is contesting from Hyderabad for the fifth consecutive time.
On the allegations of misbehavior with Muslim women, BJP candidate from Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency Madhavi Lata said, “There have been disturbances in 90% of the booths.” Police do not want to instruct women constables to do facial verification with voter ID cards. When I asked the police officer, he said it was not his responsibility.
