Kalpana Soren, wife of former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, reached the ED office to meet him on her 18th wedding anniversary. She stayed with her husband for about 15 minutes. Hemant Soren is on ED remand for the last five days. Earlier, on the night of 31 January, he was arrested in a scam of about eight and a half acres of land in Bariatu, Ranchi.
On the 18th wedding anniversary of Kalpana Soren, she wrote an emotional post on Hemant Soren’s Facebook wall and X handle. He has written, “Hemant ji did not accept to bow down to protect the existence and identity of Jharkhand. He thought it better to fight the conspiracy and dedicate himself to defeating it. Today is our 18th wedding anniversary, but Hemant ji is not among the family. Are not with children. We believe that he will soon be with all of us after defeating this conspiracy and becoming the winner. I am the life partner of a brave Jharkhandi warrior. I will not be emotional today. Like Hemant ji, I will smile even in difficult circumstances and become his strength of courage and struggle – Kalpana Murmu Soren.”
Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren were married in the year 2006. Both have two sons. There was a possibility of Kalpana Soren becoming CM after Hemant Soren went to jail, but this decision could not be taken due to contradictions in the family and party. Now Kalpana Soren has started showing activism in public life. She has announced to personally handle the social media accounts of her husband Hemant Soren from 5th February.
