Twenty people, including 10 women, were killed and several passengers injured in a head-on collision between a gravel-laden truck and an RTC bus in Telangana’s Rangareddy district.

Twenty people were killed and several others injured in a head-on collision between a gravel-laden truck and a bus in Telangana’s Rangareddy district on Monday. Ten women were among the dead. Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar confirmed the death toll in the Rangareddy bus-truck collision.
The truck collided with a Telangana Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus near Chevella, after which gravel fell on the bus. The driver of the bus, which was traveling from Tandur to Hyderabad, was also killed in the accident.
Several passengers were trapped inside the bus when gravel fell on it, and officials launched a rescue and relief operation using machinery. A police officer said that the passengers on board the bus have been evacuated.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed grief over the accident and directed Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy to conduct relief operations on a war footing.
The Chief Minister expressed grief over the accident and directed some ministers to reach the accident site. He directed the officials to take the injured passengers to Hyderabad for better treatment.
