Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) leader Sanjay Raut has attacked CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. He has said, “The party he (Assam CM) belongs to is no less than Hamas. They should first read and understand history. He is part of BJP and should know about former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.”

Indian leaders are also taking great interest in the Israel-Hamas war. The leaders are also divided into two groups. Here too there are pros and cons. While BJP leaders are openly supporting Israel, opposition leaders appear to be in favor of Palestine on the basis of logic. Meanwhile, Sanjay Raut, MP from Uddhav Thackeray-led party Shiv Sena in Mumbai, took a dig at Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. He said, “The party from which Sarma comes is no less than Hamas.”
Sanjay Raut said, “He should first read and understand history. If he is in BJP, he should know what role former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee has played regarding Palestine-Israel.” Recently, a video clip of the former Prime Minister has been much discussed, in which he is calling Israel an aggressor. The former PM had directly accused Israel of occupying the land of Arabs and said that Israelis will have to vacate the land occupied by Arabs. Vajpayee’s video clip was widely shared on social media and Indian leaders’ stand on the latest war was criticized.
RJD-Congress also replied to CM Sarma
On the statement of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, RJD MP Manoj Jha said, “This is a humanitarian crisis and they want to take domestic advantage of it… Please review once what has been the country’s attitude towards Palestine….” Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said, “Himanta Biswa Sarma is the same person against whom these people (BJP) used to conduct investigations after drinking water. Ever since he joined BJP, the investigation against him has stopped…”
‘…sending Supriya Sule to fight for Hamas’
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is targeting Israel’s opponents these days. He also criticized NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, who is part of the India alliance. Elderly Pawar had criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement on the Hamas attack. On this, CM Sarman said, “You are speaking as if you are sending your daughter Supriya to fight with Hamas in Gaza.”

NCP leader Supriya Sule said she was surprised that despite once belonging to the Congress, Sarma’s attitude towards women has changed. A war of words broke out after senior NCP leader Sharad Pawar said that India always “stands firmly with Palestine.” Hitting out at BJP leader Himanta Sarma over his comments, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said he should read history first.
