In Bihar’s Saran district, a married woman was allegedly murdered on Saturday, and her body was dumped outside her parents’ house, police said. Family members alleged that she was being harassed by her in-laws over dowry demands.
According to a police statement, the woman’s body was brought in a jeep and dumped outside her parents’ house in the Hariharnath locality early Saturday morning, after which the accused fled.
Upon receiving the information, police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem examination. An officer said that the jeep used to transport the body has been recovered, and a search operation has been launched to apprehend the culprits.
Local residents alleged that the jeep belonged to a policeman, although there has been no official confirmation of this.
