Seven people were killed and 14 others injured in a collision between a truck and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) late Sunday night in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district.
The incident took place around 2.30 am near Upni petrol pump on Sidhi-Bahri road, Deputy Superintendent of Police Gayatri Tiwari said.
The SUV was headed towards Maihar while the truck was going from Sidhi to Bahri when the two vehicles collided head-on, he said.
The officer said seven people in the SUV were killed and 14 others were injured in the accident. He said nine injured have been referred to Rewa for treatment and others are being treated at Sidhi district hospital.
The officer said the truck driver has been taken into custody and investigation is underway.
