According to eyewitnesses, the fire broke out at around 10:45 local time at the wedding ceremony. At that time hundreds of people were celebrating the wedding in the wedding hall. After the fire, there was chaos all around the wedding venue. On the accident, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al Sudani ordered the officials to make every possible effort to provide relief to the people affected by the incident.
