A disgusting case of murder of a 15-year-old girl and subsequent sexual assault on the dead body has come to light in Karimganj district of Assam. Assam Police has arrested three people accused of this brutality. The main conspirator of the incident is said to be a railway employee. The three youths, aged between 25 to 27 years, had allegedly entered the minor’s house on September 9 and committed the crime. The girl’s parents were not at home at that time.
Karimganj Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das said preliminary investigation indicated that the accused, who murdered the girl and then raped her body, were known to the victim. The minor was first strangulated to death. The post mortem report revealed that she had also been sexually assaulted. After the crime was confirmed, the three accused have been arrested under section 376 of the IPC.

Another officer said the accused allegedly made inappropriate proposals to the girl but she refused. After this, on September 9, they forcibly entered his house and committed the crime.
According to SP Pratim Das, preliminary investigation revealed that Rahul Das was the primary planner of the incident and other accused helped him in carrying out the crime. He said that Rahul is a railway employee. It is believed that the girl knew Rahul. We are interrogating him. He said that a case has been registered under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). We are looking into it, so more sections can be added.
