Andhra Pradesh: Seven killed, four injured in RTC bus-auto collision in Anantapur

An RTC bus and an auto carrying farm laborers collided near Thalagaspalle in Garaldine mandal of Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, killing seven people and injuring four others seriously.

According to the police, 12 farm laborers from Nellutla village of Kuttaluru mandal had boarded an auto to work at Garldine. While returning, an RTC bus coming from the opposite direction hit his car. Among the deceased, two died on the spot. Two others died while being taken to the hospital, while three others succumbed to their injuries during treatment at the hospital. The injured are being treated at Anantapur Government Hospital.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has expressed deep grief over this painful road accident in Thalagaspalle. He expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the accident and said that the state government is with the bereaved families.

Apart from this, the Chief Minister has also announced a compensation of Rs 5-5 lakh to the families of the deceased. Chandrababu Naidu asked the officials to ensure that the injured get medical help at the earliest and there is no slack in relief work. He has also directed a thorough investigation into the accident so that such incidents can be prevented in the future.

The police have started an investigation into the matter so that the cause of the accident can be known and action can be taken against the person responsible. The RTC bus driver has been taken into custody.
