असम: पेपर लीक होने के बाद 11वीं क्लास की सभी राज्य बोर्ड की परीक्षाएं रद्द
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said that all the Assam State Board Class 11 exams scheduled from March 24 to 29 have been cancelled following reports of question paper leak at various places.
Earlier, the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) Higher Secondary First Year Mathematics exam question paper scheduled for March 21 was leaked, forcing the authorities to cancel the exam. The officials had lodged a complaint with the police.
The Higher Secondary First Year or Class 11 exams began on March 6 and were scheduled to continue till March 29. “HS First Year Exam 2025 (scheduled from March 24-29) of the remaining subjects have been cancelled due to reports of question paper leak and violation of protocol,” Pegu said in a post on ‘X’.
Sharing the official order of ASSEB, he said that further action regarding the new schedule of the exams will be decided in the board meeting on Monday. In another post, the minister said 18 schools, including three government institutions, across the state had broken the security seals a day before the scheduled exam, leading to the leak of the mathematics question paper.
The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has suspended the affiliation of 15 private schools in 10 districts for breaking the seal of Class 11 mathematics question papers before the scheduled time and leaking them.
“The state government will take similar action against three other schools for violating the rules,” he said.
Pegu said a police complaint will be lodged and these schools have been barred from admitting students to Class 11 for the 2025-26 academic year.
According to the ASSEB order issued by Controller of Examinations (in-charge) Ranjan Kumar Das, all school inspectors and principals of major colleges have received the sealed packets of the mathematics question paper.
According to the order, “It is revealed from their report that some institutes opened the sealed packets of question papers on 20/03/2025 while the examination was scheduled to be held in the second session on 21/03/2025.”
“It is believed that the possibility of leakage of the remaining question papers cannot be ruled out, as all the question papers of the remaining subjects are with every institute in Assam where the examination is being conducted,” the order said.
Therefore, the examination of all the remaining subjects of HS first year from March 24 to March 29 has been cancelled, Das said in the order. Das informed that an FIR has been lodged at the CID headquarters in Guwahati, while 18 other cases will be registered against the educational institutions in the respective police stations.
He said, “We believe that not all of the 18 centers have leaked the question papers. Probably only one or two centers leaked the question papers and they became public on social media. The police will conduct a detailed investigation and find out the culprits.
