An Agniveer died after being shot on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Wednesday. Officials said constable (firearm) Amritpal Singh, posted near the Line of Control in Mankot area of Poonch district, was on duty at the time of the incident. The constable died on the spot. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and started investigation.
This includes medico-legal formalities to ascertain whether the soldier died due to suicide or some other reason, officials said. More details are awaited.
