रिटायर्ड न्यायाधीशों ने CJI को लिखा खत, न्यायपालिका को कमजोर करने के प्रयासों पर चिंता जताई
A group of 21 retired judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts has issued a letter to the Chief Justice of India (CJI) over the increasing efforts by “certain groups to weaken the judiciary through deliberate pressure, misinformation and public humiliation”. The letter has been written.
He said that these critics are motivated by narrow political interests and personal gains and are trying to undermine public confidence in the judicial system.
However, the retired judges did not tell about which incidents they had written this letter to the CJI. These also include four retired judges of the Supreme Court.
This letter has been written amid the war of words between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and opposition parties over action against some opposition leaders in corruption cases.
Retired judges, including Justices (retd) Deepak Verma, Krishna Murari, Dinesh Maheshwari and M R Shah, have accused critics of adopting deceitful tactics with apparent attempts to influence the judicial process by questioning the integrity of courts and judges.
“Such actions not only insult the sanctity of our judiciary but also present a direct challenge to the principles of justice and impartiality,” he wrote in the letter titled “Need to protect the judiciary from unnecessary pressure.” which judges, as guardians of the law, have taken an oath to uphold.
He urged the Supreme Court-led judiciary to be strong against such pressures and ensure that the sanctity and autonomy of the legal system is protected.
