A BJP leader has filed a complaint against Aam Aadmi Party’s national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar. Shahzad Poonawala has filed the case after the debate during the TV debate. Poonawala alleges that during the debate, the AAP spokesperson called him a Mujahideen and hurt his religious beliefs.
Noida Police has registered a case and started investigating the matter. To confirm the incident, footage of the TV debate has also been sought. Priyanka has confirmed that the complaint has been made and said that she will file her reply. There was a debate between the two leaders in a media channel program after which it is alleged that Priyanka had called the BJP leader a Mujahideen.
Shahzad Poonawasa made serious allegations against Priyanka
BJP leader Shahzad Poonawala has made serious allegations against Priyanka Kakkar. He has said in a statement to the Noida police that during a TV debate, the AAP leader called him a Mujahideen and made derogatory remarks about him. AAP spokesperson has issued a hurtful statement about his religious faith and identity. Not only this, Poonawala alleges that many times before this incident Priyanka has made comments about her religious faith on air and off air.
According to the police, the BJP leader has filed a complaint on Thursday. Shahzad Poonawala also says that the statement of the Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson shows how negative feelings are for Muslims within the party. Priyanka countered the complaint and said that Mujahideen and Shahzad do not mean terrorists. He hit back and said that the BJP leaders have even called the Chief Minister of Delhi a Jihadi.
Who is Priyanka Kakkar
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) made senior party leader Priyanka Kakkar its new national chief spokesperson in April this year. Priyanka Kakkar was also the Telangana observer of the party from 2017 to 2019. Priyanka, associated with the profession of law, was also the legal head of the South Delhi parliamentary constituency and has also worked as an advisor to Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh from 2021 to 2023. Kakkar has worked as the legal observer of the party in Uttar Pradesh.
