A helicopter crashed during a landing attempt in the remote Khotang district of Nepal. The helicopter was transporting a deceased person’s body from the capital, Kathmandu. The accident occurred during the landing phase when the pilot suddenly lost control of the aircraft, resulting in the crash. District Official Rekha Kandel informed the media that no lives were lost in the incident. Fortunately, neither the occupants of the helicopter nor anyone on the ground sustained any injuries—a fact that has brought immense relief.
The helicopter was on a special mission to transport a body from Kathmandu to Khotang for local funeral rites. Such flights are a common occurrence in Nepal’s hilly regions, where road and airstrip infrastructure remains limited.

Although the accident was severe, the fact that no lives were lost comes as a source of relief. Furthermore, as the body remained intact, the funeral rites can now be carried out as planned.
