A massive fire broke out suddenly at the Brahmaputra Apartments on Dr. Bishambar Das Marg in the capital on Wednesday afternoon. Located just 200 meters from the Parliament House, the apartment houses flats belonging to several Rajya Sabha MPs, prompting the administration to immediately respond.

The fire department received a call about the fire at around 1:20 p.m., following which six fire tenders were dispatched. It is reported that the fire initially broke out on the ground floor and quickly spread to the first and second floors. The intense flames and thick smoke created panic throughout the area.
Firefighters are continuously trying to control the fire. Police and administrative officials are also present at the scene and are engaged in rescue and relief operations. A large number of people gathered outside the apartment, causing traffic jams and disrupting traffic.
No injuries or casualties reported
According to preliminary information, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far. However, an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire. Since this area is considered highly sensitive from a security perspective, the administration is taking the incident seriously.
Videos from the scene show policemen appealing to people to remain calm and evacuate the apartment. Fire brigade teams are currently working to control the situation.
