An Emirates cargo flight from Dubai skidded off the runway and crashed into the sea at Hong Kong International Airport, killing two ground security staff.

A tragic accident occurred at Hong Kong International Airport early Monday morning. Emirates cargo flight EK9788, arriving from Dubai, skidded off the runway during landing and crashed into the sea. Two ground security staff were killed in the accident, while four crew members escaped unhurt.
What is the whole story?
The accident occurred around 3:50 a.m. (local time) when the Boeing 747-400 cargo plane was landing on the North Runway. According to officials, the plane veered off the runway after landing, broke through the airport fence, and collided with a patrol car parked outside. The impact was so severe that the patrol car was pushed into the sea, trapping two security personnel inside.

“The plane veered off the runway, broke through the fence, and crashed into the patrol car, which was pushed into the sea,” said Steven Yiu, executive director of airport operations. Divers recovered both bodies from the sea. The deceased employees were said to be aged 30 and 41 years, with 7 and 12 years of experience respectively.
