The sudden demise of Prateek Yadav—the younger brother of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav—has shaken both political and social circles. He breathed his last on the morning of Wednesday, May 13, in Lucknow, at the age of just 38. After his health deteriorated late at night, he was rushed to the Civil Hospital; however, he had already passed away before reaching the facility. According to reports, no signs of movement were observed in his body while he was at home, prompting his family to immediately transport him to the hospital.
Major Claims Regarding His Illness
Following Prateek Yadav’s death, various speculations have begun circulating regarding the nature of his illness. Citing an ABP News report and its sources, it has been stated that Prateek Yadav had been battling a severe lung-related ailment for a considerable period. According to the report, he had a blood clot in his lungs, which was the reason he had been undergoing long-term treatment at Medanta Hospital.
It is reported that some time ago, his condition worsened significantly, leading to his admission at Medanta. Family members remained in constant contact with him throughout his treatment. Although he was later brought back home once his condition stabilized, his health never fully returned to normal. As of now, no official medical bulletin regarding his death has been released.
Family and Close Associates Arrive at the Hospital
As news of Prateek Yadav’s passing spread, members of the Yadav family, relatives, and close associates began arriving at the hospital. Currently, his body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. In recent times, reports of disputes between the couple and internal family discord had surfaced; however, at the time of his death, he was residing with his family.
Distancing Himself from Politics; Focus on Fitness and Business
Despite hailing from a prominent political family, Prateek Yadav consistently kept himself distanced from active politics. He never contested an election, nor did he hold any major position within the Samajwadi Party. In an interview given in 2017, he had stated that he wished to stay away from politics and instead focus on his business ventures.
Prateek Yadav was active in the fields of real estate and fitness entrepreneurship. He completed his MBA at the University of Leeds, located in London, United Kingdom. He also owned a gym business in Lucknow and had established a distinct reputation in the field of fitness. He worked out regularly and was known as a fitness enthusiast.
