UP | On Monday morning, a bus carrying a wedding procession collided with a truck in the Dhaulana police station area of Hapur district, Uttar Pradesh. Six people lost their lives and seven others sustained injuries in the accident.
According to reports, a wedding procession that had traveled from Dasna in Ghaziabad to Gulawathi in Bulandshahr was returning after the wedding ceremony when, on the Kapurpur-Dhaulana road, the bus lost control due to excessive speed and crashed into a Hydra truck.
According to eyewitnesses, the collision was so severe that the truck lost control and overturned directly onto the bus. Consequently, the passengers inside the bus were trapped beneath the truck’s immense weight and the resulting debris. Following the accident, scenes of chaos and distress erupted at the site, and locals immediately rushed to offer assistance.
In this tragic incident, six people died on the spot, while seven others sustained serious injuries. News of the accident sent shockwaves through the police and administrative machinery. The police force from approximately six different stations—led by Hapur SP Kunwar Gyananjay Singh—immediately reached the scene, and a rescue operation was launched with the help of local residents.
The impact of the collision was so powerful that the bus was completely mangled and left in ruins. Rescuers had to struggle extensively to extract the people trapped inside the bus. During the relief and rescue operations, several passengers were successfully pulled out from beneath the debris.
The police have taken custody of the bodies of the deceased and sent them for post-mortem examinations. The injured have been transported via ambulance to nearby hospitals, where the condition of several remains critical. The injured are currently undergoing treatment at Rama Medical College, GS Medical College, and the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Dhaulana. SP Kunwar Gyananjay Singh stated, “On the Dhaulana-Gulawathi road, people were returning from a wedding procession in Gulawathi. A bus carrying residents of Dasna met with an accident. Immediate relief and rescue operations were initiated, and the injured were rushed to hospitals. Six injured individuals were declared dead, while seven others are currently undergoing treatment in hospitals. Some patients have been admitted to Rama Medical College, some to GS Medical College, and others to hospitals in Dhaulana. Their condition is reported to be stable.”
