A horrific road accident occurred on Friday morning in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Five devotees lost their lives in the mishap, while four others sustained serious injuries. The deceased include a woman and a three-year-old girl. The injured have been admitted to Saifai Hospital in Etawah. Currently, the Agra Police are engaged in further investigative proceedings.

According to reports, the accident took place near Pai on the Etawah road, within the jurisdiction of the Chitrahath Police Station area in Agra. A Bolero SUV was returning from Etawah when, suddenly, the vehicle went out of control and crashed into a roadside tree. The impact was so severe that the Bolero was left extensively damaged.

Chaos ensued at the scene immediately following the accident. Locals from the surrounding area gathered at the spot and alerted the police about the mishap. Responding promptly, a police team and ambulances arrived at the scene. DCP (East) Abhishek Agarwal confirmed the incident, stating that five people had died, while four others sustained injuries. The injured were extricated from the vehicle and rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, the police took custody of the bodies of the five deceased individuals.

It has been reported that the occupants of the Bolero were residents of Etawah. They were returning after offering prayers at the Kela Devi temple in Rajasthan when the accident occurred. Eyewitnesses and local residents stated that upon hearing the sound of the collision, villagers and passersby rushed to the accident site and, with the assistance of rescue personnel, pulled the victims out of the wrecked vehicle.

DCP (East) Abhishek Agarwal stated that the police received information late at night regarding a Bolero crashing into a tree. The bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination. He further informed that preliminary investigations suggest the accident occurred because the Bolero’s driver fell asleep at the wheel. Detailed information regarding the incident is currently being gathered.
