A major landslide occurred in the Niti Vihar area of Itanagar. As a result, a protective retaining wall that was under construction at the site suddenly collapsed. Seven laborers were working there at the time the wall fell.

A massive landslide occurred in the Niti Vihar area of Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. A protective and supporting wall under construction suddenly collapsed. Seven workers were working there when the wall collapsed. They were buried under the debris. Four people died in the accident, while three others were seriously injured.
Landslide Caused by Incessant Rain
Jummar Basar, Superintendent of Police, Itanagar Capital Region (ICR), stated that the wall collapsed due to incessant rain in the Niti Vihar area of Itanagar, trapping the workers under the debris. Following the incident, the SDRF team, police, and district administration immediately arrived at the scene and launched a search and rescue operation.
3 Hospitalized
SP Jumar Basar stated that rescue teams recovered four bodies from the scene and three injured people were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. The injured are currently hospitalized.
