Madhya Pradesh: A tragic incident that shames humanity has come to light from the Punasa area of Khandwa district. Four masked men gang-raped a 90-year-old woman living alone in a field.
The accused stuffed a cloth into her mouth and raped her one by one. The woman suffered such severe injuries that her genitals were torn, and she lay in a pool of blood in the field for approximately 12 hours. After the incident, the accused tried to throw her into a well, but seeing people moving around in the surrounding fields, they threw her into the field and fled.
The elderly woman lived alone in a field.
Narmadanagar Police Station Officer Vikas Khinchi stated that the victim, an elderly woman, lives alone in a small house on the farm. The woman said she had fallen asleep after dinner on Thursday night. Late at night, four masked men entered the house. The accused first stuffed a cloth into her mouth to prevent her from making any noise. After this, all four of them held her hands and legs and raped her one by one. During this, the woman suffered serious injuries and was covered in blood.
The victim writhed in agony for 12 hours
After the incident, the accused tried to throw the woman into a well, but seeing people moving in the nearby fields, they panicked and fled, leaving her there. The seriously injured woman lay in agony on the cot all night and into the morning. Blood continued to flow from her genitals, staining the cot with blood.
People who came to buy straw saw her condition
Some people arrived at the woman’s farm around 11 a.m. on Friday morning to buy straw. They saw the elderly woman lying injured on the cot outside the hut and were alarmed. They immediately called the woman’s daughter and the police. Upon receiving the information, the daughter and a police team arrived at the scene, and the woman was taken to Punasa Hospital. Initial examinations revealed that the woman had suffered serious injuries to her genitals. Due to her critical condition, she was referred to Khandwa District Hospital.
The SDOP stated that a female officer has been sent to the hospital to record the victim’s statement. Currently, the woman is not in a position to give a statement. Further legal action will be taken after the statement is received.
The incident has caused outrage in the area
This inhumane incident has caused widespread outrage among the local population. Villagers have demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and strict action.
