In Bowrampet, Hyderabad, a woman named Mamta, fed up with her two-month-old son’s constant crying, burned him alive. She stuffed a cloth into the child’s mouth and threw him into a burning stove. Police have arrested the accused mother and are investigating the case from the angle of postpartum stress.

A wicked mother from Hyderabad’s Bowrampet area took such a rage that even your soul will tremble. She brutally murdered her own two-month-old child. The child’s constant crying infuriated her so much that she threw the child into a burning wood stove and burned him alive.
According to the police, this horrific scene unfolded when the child’s father, Rajendra, returned home from work in the morning. He found his wife, Mamta, burning the child in the fire. The accused woman had stuffed a cloth in his mouth and blindfolded him to muffle his screams. Before the father could react, the child had already died.
Originally from Madhya Pradesh, Mamta and Rajendra worked as watchmen and laborers in an apartment in Bowrampet, Hyderabad. When the police were informed of the incident around 12 noon on Tuesday, even the officers who arrived at the scene were horrified. The child’s body was found in a severely mutilated condition.
Was mental stress the cause?
Police are investigating the case from every angle. Initial investigations have revealed that the child had been crying for a long time, causing the woman to lose her mental balance. Police are also investigating whether the woman was suffering from postpartum depression (mental stress caused by childbirth) because she was not receiving any help in caring for the child.

Cyberabad police have registered a case and taken the accused mother into custody. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Police officials say this is a very sensitive and heinous case, which is being investigated thoroughly.
