Uttar Pradesh: A heartbreaking incident occurred on Saturday in Amanpur town of Kasganj district, shocking the entire area. The discovery of the bodies of five members of a family in a rented house on Etah Road caused a stir. Police and administrative officials rushed to the scene and began an investigation. The deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Satyaveer Singh, a resident of Nagla Bhojpur, his 48-year-old wife Sheela, 12-year-old daughter Akanksha, 10-year-old daughter Prachi, and 8-year-old son Greesh.
Regarding the incident, Satyaveer Singh lived with his family in a rented house opposite a petrol pump on Etah Road in Amanpur town. He was known as “Fauji Welding Mistri” and supported his family by running a welding shop. According to locals, he was a simple and friendly person. The incident came to light when a man went to his shop on Saturday to order welding work. He became suspicious when he found the shop closed. He then went inside the house. He was stunned by the scene inside. The bodies of Satyaveer and his wife, Sheela, were found hanging from a noose in the room, while the bodies of the three children were lying on the bed. The Amanpur police station was immediately informed.

Initially, it is suspected that the children were first poisoned, and then the couple committed suicide by hanging themselves. However, the police say that the actual cause of death will only be confirmed after the post-mortem report is received. The forensic team has collected evidence from the scene and is investigating every aspect of the case. Following the incident, an atmosphere of grief and panic has gripped the area. Neighbors and acquaintances still cannot believe that a happy family could have ended in this manner. Police officials have stated that all aspects are being investigated thoroughly and further action will be taken based on the facts. Madan Lal, the deceased Satyaveer’s brother-in-law, stated that her husband was not giving her a share in the land. He had lived there for twenty years and ran a welding shop. Financial hardship appears to be the reason for the mass suicide.
What did the police say on the matter?
DIG Prabhakar Choudhary stated that the bodies appear to be three days old, as people reported the house had been closed for three days. He also suggested that financial hardship could be the reason for the suicide, as the deceased ran a small welding shop. He stated that all questions have been sent for post-mortem examination, and action will be taken based on the family’s written complaint. DIG Prabhakar Choudhary, Aligarh, stated that prima facie it appears that Satyaveer may have first given the children a poisonous substance and then hanged himself.
