However, his servant, Raju Khan, has been convicted in the case. The court will pronounce Raju Khan’s sentence on January 29. A tragic aspect of the case is that Moid Khan’s bakery and shopping complex were demolished by bulldozers immediately after the allegations were made.
The First Court of the POCSO Court in Ayodhya delivered its verdict in this much-discussed case on Wednesday. DNA tests were conducted on both Moid Khan and Raju Khan. Moid Khan’s DNA test came back negative, while his servant Raju Khan’s test was positive. Based on this, the court delivered its verdict today, acquitting Moid Khan.
A case of gang rape was registered at the Purakalandar police station on July 29, 2024. Samajwadi Party leader Moid Khan and his servant Raju Khan were arrested and sent to jail in connection with the case. The case became highly politicized. Samajwadi Party national spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chand reacted to Moid Khan’s acquittal. He wrote on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) that the BJP had conspired to frame an innocent person. The court has acquitted him. He further stated that when allegations of rape were leveled against Samajwadi Party leader Moid Khan in Ayodhya almost two years ago, there was a huge uproar. The Chief Minister raised the issue in the Assembly, bulldozers were used, anchors shouted, and Moid was called a “butcher.” He added that the BJP only conspires against minorities, backward classes, Dalits, and Brahmins.
