A herd of elephants arrived in Kankhal, Haridwar late at night, causing panic. The elephants moved through the streets and into the fields, damaging crops.

A herd of elephants caused panic among residents late at night after they reached the area near SM Public School in Kankhal, Haridwar. The elephants entered residential colonies from the roads and also ventured into fields, damaging crops.

Although wildlife officials were present at the scene, the forest department is proving ineffective in preventing wild animals from entering populated areas. A video of the elephant herd has gone viral on social media. Hindustan does not verify the authenticity of the viral video. Local residents are demanding that the forest department implement stronger measures to prevent wild animals from entering residential areas.
