NCW’s double standards, Team reaches Kolkata to investigate woman being paraded naked, but silence on Manipur

Prior to the Bengal incident, the case of naked parade of Kuki community women in Manipur had come to the fore, which shook the entire country. The Women’s Commission has not visited the state even after almost three months of no action in the May 4 incident.

National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma along with her team has reached Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, to investigate the incident of molestation and parading a woman. But the commission has kept mum on the issue of naked parade of women in Manipur, leading to allegations of duplicity towards non-BJP ruled states.

The team led by NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma plans to visit Malda and discuss with the concerned authorities their findings regarding the tragic incident. In a tweet, the NCW said, “The NCW team along with Chairperson Rekha Sharma is in Kolkata and is on its way to Howrah to investigate the horrendous case of a woman being brutally assaulted, molested and paraded naked by political goons. Thereafter, visit Malda.” Will leave for.”

The NCW tweet further said, “This will be followed by departure for Malda. The NCW team will formulate its findings after holding talks with all concerned authorities and recommend remedial measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.” Will do.”

Significantly, before this incident in Bengal, a case of vandalism and naked parade with the women of Kuki community came to light in violence-hit Manipur for 3 months, which shook the whole country. In this incident of May 4, serious questions are being raised on BJP’s state and central government for not taking any action even after almost three months. But the National Commission for Women, instead of calling the government for a reply, instead of visiting the state regarding this incident, issued a notice to Twitter itself for the viral video.
