A shocking incident has emerged from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, where a retired sub-inspector, Ranveer Singh Yadav, has been arrested for brutally murdering his own daughter.
A family dispute over a love affair escalated into a horrific “honor killing,” with the victim’s mother and brother also accused of complicity in the crime.
The tragic incident occurred in Agra when Ranveer’s daughter, a hardworking student preparing for teacher recruitment exams, expressed her desire to marry her cousin (her nephew by relation). Fearing social stigma, the family repeatedly pressured her to end the relationship. The tension reached a breaking point on October 24. During a heated argument, the daughter angrily shouted, “If you want to kill me, then kill me!”
The entire family was involved
According to the police report, while the mother held the daughter’s legs, Ranveer strangled her with a dupatta (scarf). After the deed was done, the retired policeman calmly called his elder son, Gaurav, and informed him that he had “finished the job.” The elder son then transported the body in a car to his maternal uncle’s house in Etawah. With the uncle’s help, the body was dumped near the Yamuna River.
The victim had made a video
The victim’s younger brother reportedly rushed into the room upon hearing her screams, but the other family members intimidated him into silence. The most damning evidence is a 29-second video that the victim sent to her boyfriend moments before her death. In the clip, she expressed her love and clearly identified her father, mother, brother, and several relatives as threats to her life. She even predicted her death, saying that if they killed her, her boyfriend would be next.
How was it uncovered?
Police finally cracked the case after skeletal remains were found near the riverbank. While Ranveer Singh Yadav, his son Gaurav, and uncle Satish are in jail, the victim’s mother is still at large. This case serves as a tragic reminder of how power can sometimes turn protectors into predators.
