The rupee has fallen from 90 to 91 against the dollar in the last 10 trading sessions. It has depreciated by one percent against the dollar in the last five sessions alone.

The Indian rupee depreciated by 36 paise against the US dollar on Tuesday, crossing the 91 mark for the first time during trading hours, amid a lack of progress in India-US trade talks and continued outflows of foreign capital.
The rupee has fallen from 90 to 91 against the dollar in the last 10 trading sessions. It has depreciated by one percent against the dollar in the last five sessions alone.
At 11:45 AM, the rupee was trading at 91.14 against the US dollar, a decline of 36 paise from its previous close. In the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 90.87 against the US dollar and continued to weaken as the session progressed.
On Monday, the rupee had closed at an all-time low of 90.78 against the US dollar, depreciating by 29 paise. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which measures the US dollar’s strength against a basket of six major currencies, was down 0.03 percent at 98.27.
On the domestic stock market front, the Sensex fell 363.92 points to 84,849.44 in early trade, while the Nifty slipped 106.65 points to 25,920.65. International benchmark Brent crude was down 0.61 percent at $60.19 per barrel.
According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers on Monday, offloading shares worth a net ₹1,468.32 crore.
