A 24-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself while live-streaming on Facebook in the Vibhuti Khand police station area of Lucknow. Police provided this information on Friday. Vibhuti Khand police station in-charge Amar Singh said that the woman was originally from Ambedkar Nagar district and was living in a rented room in Lucknow.

According to the police, the woman went live on Facebook around 5:30 AM on Thursday. Meta informed the police control room about this. The station in-charge said that the room was locked from the inside, so it took some time to break down the door.
The woman was immediately taken to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Police said that in the live video, the woman can be heard saying that she was not acting but would actually commit suicide. However, she did not name anyone.
