Severe cold conditions continued to prevail in most parts of Punjab and Haryana on Friday, with Faridkot recording the lowest temperature of three degrees Celsius in both neighboring states. According to the Meteorological Department here, the minimum temperature in Chandigarh, the joint capital of both states, was recorded at 6.1 degrees Celsius.
According to the weather department, Bathinda in Punjab recorded a minimum temperature of 3.2 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, in other parts of Punjab, Amritsar recorded a minimum temperature of 5.8 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana 5.6 degrees, Patiala 5.8 degrees, Gurdaspur 5.5 degrees, while Ferozepur recorded a minimum temperature of 6.2 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, Narnaul was the coldest place with a minimum temperature of 3.5 degrees Celsius, while Hisar recorded a minimum temperature of 3.7 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures also dropped in other parts of Haryana. According to the department, the minimum temperature in Karnal was 5.8 degrees Celsius, Ambala 7.7 degrees, Rohtak and Bhiwani 6 degrees Celsius, while Sirsa recorded a minimum temperature of 5.4 degrees Celsius.
