An IndiGo flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai under an emergency after receiving a “human bomb” threat. Security agencies immediately swung into action upon receiving the threat, and a high alert was declared at Mumbai airport.
Strict security arrangements have been put in place to ensure passenger safety. It is reported that the threat was received via an email sent to either Hyderabad or Delhi airport.
As soon as airport authorities became aware of the email, security systems immediately went on alert. According to preliminary information, the email contained a human bomb threat related to an IndiGo flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad.
Taking the threat seriously, the flight was diverted to Mumbai immediately after takeoff on Tuesday. All precautionary measures were implemented at the airport, while emergency response teams and security personnel were fully deployed. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
At present, information about the total number of passengers present in the plane has not been released and no official statement has been issued by Indigo Airlines yet.
