A major accident has occurred in Saudi Arabia. According to reports, a bus traveling from Mecca to Medina collided with a diesel tanker. Forty-two Indian Umrah pilgrims are feared dead in the accident. All the deceased are believed to be from Hyderabad.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred at Mufrihat at around 1:30 am Indian Standard Time. All passengers on the bus are believed to be from Hyderabad, including women, children, and men. Many passengers were sleeping and unaware of the accident. After completing the Umrah, they were heading to Medina, where they intended to perform the pilgrimage.

The Indian Consulate General, Jeddah, stated in a post that in light of the tragic bus accident involving Indian Umrah pilgrims near Medina, Saudi Arabia, a 24×7 control room has been set up at the Indian Consulate General in Jeddah.
