Uttarakhand | Water level of Alaknanda River rises, submerging temples and structures in Rudraprayag

Due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand, the Alaknanda river is showing a fierce form. Due to the rising water level of the river, the temple and many houses got submerged.

Due to torrential rains in the Badrinath region, the Alaknanda river is flowing in spate. Due to which the residential buildings adjacent to the river are in danger, while today morning the water level of the river suddenly increased again, causing waterlogging in 4 residential buildings of the Balmiki community. People somehow ran away and saved their lives. Along with this, the bridge connecting the District Hospital and Balmiki Basti also drowned in the river.

Continuous torrential rains are continuing in the mountains. Life has been disrupted due to the rain. Due to torrential rains in the Badrinath region, the water level of the Alaknanda river crossed the danger mark this morning, posing a danger to the nearby buildings. 4 families of the Balmiki community somehow ran away and saved their lives. The 15 feet high Shiva statue under the Belni bridge has also submerged. The footpaths have also drowned, apart from this, water has reached the famous Koteshwar temple cave.

Due to the rising water level of the Alaknanda river, people of the Balmiki community vacated their houses this morning. The affected people said that the sudden rise in the water level of the river created flood-like conditions. The water level suddenly rose so much that they suffered a lot. They said that despite the heavy rain in the Badrinath area at night, no announcement was made by the administration, due to which such a situation arose in front of them. They have appealed to the administration for help.
