4 including pregnant woman, killed as truck overturned on ambulance in UP

A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. Here an ambulance got hit by a truck on the Ahraura-Varanasi Shakti Nagar road in which four people are reported dead.

Four people travelling in an ambulance, including a pregnant woman, died after being hit by a truck coming from Sonbhadra near Chhato Trimukhani village in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. Police gave this information. According to the police, this incident took place in Ahraura police station area. Two injured have been referred to Varanasi.

Senior Superintendent of Police Somen Verma said that while the ambulance was trying to overtake a truck loaded with gravel coming from Sonbhadra near Chhato Trimukhani village on Saturday afternoon, four people died and two were injured. Verma said that these people were taking pregnant woman Hiravati Devi to the hospital in the ambulance when this accident happened.

The police took everyone to Ahraura Community Health Center where the doctor declared four dead. Two were referred to Trauma Center (Varanasi) after first aid. Verma said that the deceased have been identified as Suraj Bali Kharwar (27), Hiravati Devi (25), Malti Devi (40) and Ramu (30), while the injured include Kaushal Kumar Kharwar and Bhandari Sharma. Sub-district magistrate Chunar Rajesh Kumar Verma said that further action is being taken by the police after getting the Panchnama of all the deceased done. The seriously injured were sent to Trauma Center Varanasi.
