Floods wreak havoc in Uttar Pradesh, water entered 633 villages in 12 districts, more than a dozen people died

Hundreds of villages are flooded, due to which the life of the people has been disrupted. According to the data, 633 villages in 12 districts of UP are affected by floods. Not only this, 19 people have lost their lives in accidents caused by lightning and rain in the last 24 hours.

UP Relief Commissioner G.S. Naveen Kumar said on Wednesday that 633 villages in 12 districts of the state, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Shravasti, Balrampur, Kushinagar, Basti, Shahjahanpur, Barabanki, Sitapur, Gonda, Siddharthnagar and Ballia are affected by floods.

19 died due to rain

The Relief Commissioner said that during the last 24 hours, 16 people died due to lightning in the state. He said that apart from this, two people have died due to drowning in flood water and one person has died due to snake bite. Apart from this, the water level of many rivers of the state has increased. He said that Sharda, Rapti, Ghaghra, Budhi Rapti and Kuano rivers are flowing above the danger mark in the state.

He said that so far 718 flood shelters, 923 flood posts and 501 medical teams have been formed and established in UP. Three teams each of SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) and PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) and one team of NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) have been deployed for relief and rescue in the affected districts.

In view of the rising water level of the rivers, the administration has also become fully alert. Flood posts have been set up in flood-affected areas. Along with this, boats have been arranged and divers have been deployed in the areas where water has flooded. Ration and medicines are being distributed to the flood victims. The administration says that the situation is being monitored. The administration team is fully prepared.
