Monsoon has started wreaking havoc in Uttarakhand. With the first rain of monsoon, devastation is visible everywhere in the entire state. From mountain to plain, water and landslides are visible. Due to continuous torrential rains in the mountains, all the rivers of the state are in spate. The water level of Alaknanda river in Badrinath is continuously increasing. The water level of Bhagirathi river in Gangotri is also continuously increasing.
On the other hand, the continuous rain in Uttarkashi has become a cause of trouble. Due to rain, debris has started coming on the roads. Along with this, incidents of landslides are also happening. Life in Mori has been affected by the rain. Due to heavy rain in Mori tehsil since night, the Tyuni-Purola-Naugaon motor road has been closed near Kharsadi.
Due to heavy rain, debris and boulders have come on the road in Kharsadi, due to which the car got damaged and the road was closed. Officials of the Public Works Department Purola say that the road will be made operational soon. The work of removing debris from the roads is going on. The Meteorological Department has already issued an alert regarding heavy rain in the state for two days.
There is a red alert for heavy rain in Kumaon. Keeping in mind the safety of children and after the warning of the Meteorological Department, Kumaon DM has declared 2 days holiday in all schools and Anganwadi centers in many districts.
