In Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, a mother and son, troubled by financial constraints, committed suicide by consuming poison. According to the police, the 55-year-old woman and her son committed suicide due to financial problems.

Etawah: Dead bodies of mother and son were found lying in a house in Sai Colony, Pakke Bagh on Thursday night. Sulphas tablets and an empty cold drink bottle were found near the dead body in the room. SP City and CO investigated. The forensic team also collected evidence. The dead bodies are said to be about 24 hours old. The viscera has been preserved as the circumstances of death were not clear in the post-mortem. Police believe that under pressure of debt, the mother and son committed suicide by consuming poison. Police are also investigating on another point.
Suman Devi (55), resident of Sai Colony, lived with her son Deepu Soni (28). The husband had died about four months ago. When son-in-law Abhishek Soni, a resident of Karanpura of the city arrived at around 11 pm on Thursday night, he saw the dead bodies of both of them lying in the house and informed the police. Police station, CO City Amit Kumar, SP City Abhaynath Tripathi reached the spot. He interrogated the son-in-law and the people nearby.
The son-in-law told that the wife had called her mother-in-law and brother-in-law several times since the evening, but the phone was not being answered. When, on his wife’s insistence, he came to find out the reason, the door did not open. On this the people of the locality gathered. When the gate did not open even after knocking several times, I looked through the window and saw mother-in-law Suman and brother-in-law Deepu lying unconscious on the bed. Police found sulfa pills and an empty cold drink bottle lying in the room.

In such a situation, the police suspect that both of them have committed suicide by consuming poison, but the police is also gathering information from the angle of killing by poisoning. Son-in-law Abhishek told the police that Deepu had taken a loan of Rs 10 lakh from the bank about 20 days ago. There is no information about where this money was spent. According to Abhishek, this loan was earlier being taken in the name of his father-in-law but he died before the money could be received. At the same time, the police has also come to know that Deepu had taken loan from some other people also. At present, the police is gathering information regarding why the loan was taken and where it was spent.

The bodies of mother and son were found lying in the house. Investigation has been done. Prima facie it seems to be a case of suicide by consuming poison due to debt. Investigation has revealed that he took a loan of Rs 10 lakh from the bank. This loan was taken just about 20 days ago. Investigation is being done on more points also.
