Somewhere happy, somewhere sad! Celebration turned into mourning as 6 youth drowned in the river, suspicion of being drunk

Holi celebrations turned into mourning in Telangana on Monday when six youths drowned in two separate incidents. In the first incident, four youth drowned in Wardha river in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district. The youth had come down to the river to take a bath after playing Holi with friends.
Police said that this incident happened near Thatipalli of Kautala mandal. All the youth were 22-25 years old and were residents of Nadimabad village of the same mandal. The deceased have been identified as Alam Sai (22), P. Kamlakar (25), Uppula Santosh (23) and Y. Praveen (24).
Police recovered the bodies with the help of local fishermen and swimmers and sent them for postmortem. Police suspect that all the youth were drunk. In another incident, two youths died by drowning in a lake in Rangareddy district. The incident occurred at Pedda Cheruvu in Maheshwaram mandal.
