A fishing boat carrying 40 fishermen has gone missing in the Arabian Sea. This incident took place in Karwar in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. According to reports, the boat went missing last week amid adverse weather conditions in the Arabian Sea under the jurisdiction of Karnataka.
The boat named Cristori, registered in Goa, is suspected to have faced technical problems in its engine and drifted off due to strong winds. Reportedly, it had left from Panaji in Goa and the last GPS signal was recorded near Belikeri in Ankola in Uttara Kannada district.
Coast guards have launched an operation to locate the missing boat after no signal was received for four days. Further information is yet to be revealed.
