Delhi: The Election Commission of India will appoint actor Rajkumar Rao as its national symbol on October 26. The Election Commission has said it will appoint actor Rajkummar Rao as its national symbol ahead of the elections. The election body said a formal ceremony in this regard will be held on Thursday.
- More than 161 million people in five states across India will vote in assembly elections next month, the Election Commission of India announced earlier this month.
- The Election Commission said in its announcement that voting will be held in Mizoram on November 7.
- Elections in Chhattisgarh, which has a 90-member assembly, will be held in two phases on November 7 and 17.
- Elections will be held in Madhya Pradesh and Telangana on November 17 and 30 respectively. While earlier voting in Rajasthan was to be held on 23rd November, now voting will be held on 25th November. Counting of votes will take place on December 3.
- Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar also said that the elections in these states hold a unique significance as they will serve as the last assembly elections before the general elections in 2024.
