Punjab farmers’ ‘rail roko’ stir enters third day, train movement remains hit

Rail traffic has been affected due to the farmers’ Rail Roko movement. Giving information in this regard, Shobhan Choudhary, General Manager of Northern Railway in Delhi, said that due to the 3-day strike, 90 Mail Express trains and 150 local trains have been cancelled.

Farmers are adamant on their unmet demand. Farmers demand that the central government implement the Minimum Support Price Law. Apart from this, farmers say that many measures are pending for a long time in their interest, they should also be implemented.

At the same time, due to the rail roko movement of farmers, rail traffic has been affected. Giving information in this regard, General Manager of Northern Railway in Delhi, Shobhan Chaudhary said that farmers are protesting in Punjab. They are sitting at 14 places in Firozpur division and 4 places in Ambala division since Thursday, due to which train operations are disrupted. He said that due to these 3 days of strike, 90 mail express trains and 150 local trains have been cancelled.

Train services affected due to farmers’ protest Northern Railway DRM Rajkumar Singh, Moradabad said that the ongoing farmers’ movement in Punjab has also affected the operations of Moradabad division. About 10 local trains had to be canceled and 12 local trains had to be stopped before the destination. Passengers are being informed about the affected trains through SMS.
