19 People Killed As Heavy Rains Wreak Havoc In Uttar Pradesh

Four people have died in Hardoi, three in Barabanki, two each in Pratapgarh and Kannauj and one each in Amethi, Deoria, Jalaun, Kanpur, Unnao, Sambhal, Rampur and Muzaffar Nagar.

A lot of life is affected due to heavy rains in UP. Due to this reason, 19 people have died in different cities in the last 24 hours. Many places are badly flooded. In view of this, schools in many districts including the capital Lucknow are closed.

According to information received from the Relief Commissioner’s office on Monday, 19 people have died in rain-related incidents in the state in the last 24 hours.

According to the information, 13 people died due to excessive rainfall, while four died due to lightning and two due to drowning. Four people have died in Hardoi, three in Barabanki, two each in Pratapgarh and Kannauj and one each in Amethi, Deoria, Jalaun, Kanpur, Unnao, Sambhal, Rampur and Muzaffar Nagar.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that officials of all the districts have to get involved in relief work with full promptness. DM should visit the area and keep an eye on the relief work. Immediately distribute the permissible relief amount to the people affected by the disaster. In case of water logging, effective arrangements should be made for drainage. The water level of rivers should be monitored. The damage caused to crops should be assessed and reports should be made available to the government so that compensation can be given to the affected farmers as per rules.
