2 brothers killed and 3 others injured after car catches fire in Mumbai’s Sion

A car collided with a road divider on Monday morning near Sion area of Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, after which it caught fire. Within no time the fire engulfed the entire car. Two youths died and three others were injured in this tragic accident.

Giving information, the Disaster Control Cell of Mumbai Police and BMC said that the incident happened at around 4.30 in the morning. When Hyundai i20, a car running on CNG gas, was going at high speed from Sion towards Dadar, at the same time Dr. B.R. She collided with a divider on Ambedkar Road.

According to the police, the car overturned after hitting the road divider near Ganga Vihar Hotel and burst into flames. Five people in the car were trapped inside. Local people called the fire brigade and took the passengers out of the car and took them to Sion Hospital for treatment. Later, the fire brigade teams reached there and brought the fire in the car under control within a few minutes. After this the police started investigation.

An official said the cause of the accident is not known and all angles will be investigated, including whether the person driving the car was dozing or drunk.
