Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel on Friday made a serious allegation claiming that the officials of the assembly were being threatened. He said that efforts are being made to paralyze the assembly committees and the Delhi Secretariat. He wants to expose those people who are working behind the scenes.
Speaker Ram Niwas Goyal said that the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly does not work under the Lieutenant Governor. However, his own file related to his visit to Ghana to attend the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference has been withheld by the Lieutenant Governor. He said it is pending approval of the Finance Department and the Finance Secretary is not clearing their files.
The Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly said that some officers of Delhi under the Lieutenant Governor are making every effort to ensure that the Delhi Legislative Assembly and its committees do not function and become paralysed. He said that after discontinuing the DARC fellowship program and issuing show cause notices to senior officers of the secretariat, now the assembly officials are being openly threatened with transfer and disciplinary action.
He said that on the orders of IAS Special Secretary (Vigilance and Services) YVVU Rajasekhar, the officers of the Delhi Legislative Assembly were telephonically called to the Services Department. I am told that Rajasekhar and Deputy Secretary Amitabh Joshi met these officials and wanted to know the details of the complaints being probed through the OBC Welfare Committee and Privileges Committee. The officers were then asked to submit a written request for transfer from the Assembly Secretariat.
Explain that the OBC Welfare Committee of the Delhi Legislative Assembly is probing a complaint against YVVJ Rajasekhar. The complaint alleged that Rajasekhar obtained his appointment in the government on the basis of a false OBC caste certificate.
