‘Delhi has been turned into a fortress; the Modi government is shielding the CEC’ – Rahul Gandhi addressing the press.
‘दिल्ली को किला बना दिया, मोदी सरकार CEC को बचा रही’, राहुल गांधी प्रेस को कर रहे संबोधित
Leaders of the INDIA bloc are preparing to march to the Supreme Court today. Ahead of the march, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is addressing the press.
The Leader of the Opposition stated, “The ‘Chalo Delhi’ march—a protest for democracy against vote theft and the Election Commission led by Gyanesh Kumar—has evolved into a mass movement in Delhi over the past four or five days. This opposition has been ongoing for a long time—for the last 10 to 13 years—but it is now taking a distinct shape.”
Rahul Gandhi questioned why the national capital has been turned into a prison. People are being stopped; police are deployed everywhere, and Delhi has been turned into a fortress. He alleged that the Modi government is shielding the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
Rahul Gandhi remarked that on one side stand the people of the country and the opposition parties, while on the other are Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He stated that the government is making a mistake by deploying such a massive police force. He added that they want to show the public how the government is protecting the Chief Election Commissioner.
He mentioned that police personnel themselves are questioning why they are being made to beat up patriotic youth. During the press conference, a video was played showing young women being beaten and police officers pulling their hair; the video also showed journalists being mistreated.
Rahul Gandhi asserted that all of this is being done to shield CEC Gyanesh Kumar. He issued a warning, stating, “Gyanesh Kumar, you will not escape; we will not let you off the hook.”
