Three people died tragically and another was critically injured in a horrific road accident in Bihar’s Bhojpur district on Sunday morning.

Three people died tragically and another was critically injured in a severe road accident in Bihar’s Bhojpur district on Sunday morning. The accident occurred on NH-922 near Doghra village under the Bihiya police station area, where a speeding Scorpio SUV rammed into the rear of a trailer truck.
The collision was so violent that the Scorpio was mangled, and three occupants died on the spot.
The deceased include Prakash Kumar, Pallavi, and one other person; both Prakash and Pallavi were reportedly residents of Deoghar, Jharkhand. Meanwhile, a young man critically injured in the accident was initially taken to Ara Sadar Hospital but was subsequently referred to Patna due to his critical condition. Doctors state that his condition remains serious.
According to reports, there were four people in the Scorpio. They had returned to Noida after a trip to Manali and were on their way home to Deoghar. Around 6:30 AM on Sunday, as their vehicle reached the vicinity of Rahi Hotel near Doghra village (Bihiya police station area), the speeding Scorpio collided with the rear of the trailer moving ahead of it.
Bodies Extricated by Cutting Open the Vehicle Door
The accident was so horrific that the front section of the Scorpio was completely destroyed. Locals struggled significantly to extricate the people trapped inside the vehicle; the doors had to be cut open to retrieve two of the bodies. A large crowd gathered at the scene following the accident, causing a brief period of chaos. Local resident Munna Rai stated that the Scorpio was speeding when it rammed into the trailer from behind.
He confirmed that three people died on the spot, while the fourth was sent to the hospital in critical condition. According to him, the deceased included a husband and wife. He also mentioned that the deceased man worked as an engineer in Noida and was returning home after a holiday with his family. A villager reported that several mobile phones, documents, and other belongings were recovered from the wrecked vehicle. Family members were informed of the accident after repeated calls were received on the mobile phones found at the scene. It is reported that the deceased hailed from Deoghar, while some of their relatives reside in Sonepur and Ranchi.
Did the Scorpio driver doze off, or was the vehicle speeding?
Upon receiving the information, the Bihiya police and Traffic DSP Manoj Kumar Sudhanshu arrived at the scene. With the help of locals, the police retrieved the bodies and sent them to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examinations. The damaged vehicles were cleared from the road, and traffic flow was restored to normal.
Traffic DSP Manoj Kumar Sudhanshu stated that preliminary investigations suggest the Scorpio driver may have dozed off or was speeding, causing the vehicle to collide with a trailer moving ahead of it. He mentioned that the Scorpio was traveling from Noida to Deoghar. Three people died in the accident, while one person is currently undergoing treatment. Further legal formalities will be completed once the family members arrive.
