A couple and their four-year-old daughter died after the roof of their house collapsed during a storm accompanied by rain in Shekhupura village, located in the Sidhpura area of Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj district.

Last night, the concrete roof (linter) of a house collapsed in Shekhupura village, located within the Sidhpura police station area of Kasganj district, Uttar Pradesh, due to strong winds and torrential rain. In this tragic incident, three members of the same family—a father, mother, and daughter—died on the spot, while two other daughters and a son sustained serious injuries. Upon receiving the information, local police and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) arrived at the scene and initiated relief and rescue operations.
According to reports, the house belonging to a man named Veerbhan in Shekhupura village was battered by strong winds and rain last night. During this time, a section of the house, including the concrete roof, suddenly collapsed. Veerbhan (aged approximately 30), his wife Neelam (aged 27), and their three-year-old daughter Kavya tragically died after being trapped under the debris. Meanwhile, Veerbhan’s ten-year-old daughter Kajal, seven-year-old son Suraj, and five-year-old daughter Kiran were seriously injured after being trapped in the rubble.
The incident caused a stir within the local administration. Police from the Sidhpura station and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate immediately rushed to the site. Rescue teams, assisted by locals, began clearing the debris right away. The injured were pulled from the rubble and immediately admitted to a nearby hospital; however, given their critical condition, they have been referred elsewhere for advanced medical treatment.
A wave of grief has swept through the entire village following this heart-wrenching incident. Everyone is in shock over the sudden deaths of three family members. The local administration has assured the affected family of all possible assistance.
