Central Bank said that Rs 2000 notes remain legal tender and will remain legal tender in future too.

The Reserve Bank has said that till now more than 97 percent of the Rs 2000 notes in circulation have been returned. The Central Bank said on Friday, December 1 that out of the Rs 2000 notes in circulation on May 19, 2023, 97.26 percent of the notes have returned to the banking system. Along with this, the Central Bank said that Rs 2000 notes remain legal tender and will remain legal tender in future also.
