9 soldiers killed, 1 injured as Indian Army vehicle falls into gorge in Ladakh

An army truck fell into a river in Ladakh region on Saturday. In this accident, 9 Army jawans were killed, while another jawan was injured. Officials said the accident reportedly took place on Saturday afternoon at Kiari in Nyoma area, 150 km from Leh.

Ladakh: An accident has taken place 7 km away from Kyari city. 9 soldiers of Indian Army lost their lives in this accident. This accident happened due to his vehicle falling into the ditch. Another soldier has been injured in the incident and has been taken to hospital for treatment. Defense officer of Ladakh has given this information. He said the soldiers were moving from Karu Garrison to Kyari near Leh. Many soldiers were also injured in the accident.

A total of 10 personnel were on board the vehicle

An army official said that the vehicle fell into the valley between 5:45 and 6:00 pm, 7 km before Kyari. He said, ‘An ALS vehicle which was going as part of a convoy from Leh to Nyoma fell into the valley around 7 km before Kyari around 5:45-6:00 pm. There were 10 personnel in the vehicle, out of which 9 died and one was injured. The injured personnel have been taken to hospital.’

‘I am saddened by the death of army soldiers’

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed grief over the death of army personnel in an accident in Ladakh. He said, ‘I am saddened by the death of Indian Army jawans near Leh in Ladakh. We will never forget his exemplary service to our nation. My condolences go out to the bereaved families. The injured personnel have been shifted to the field hospital. I pray for his speedy recovery.’
