Local people are in panic due to the spread of unknown disease among children in many villages of Sunder Pahari block of Godda district of Jharkhand. Seven children have died from this disease within a week. All the children are said to be from primitive tribal families called Pahadia. There is a feeling of fear among the people regarding the disease.
It is being told that in many villages of Sunder Pahari block of the district, people had complained of fever and pain in children. After receiving information about the spread of the disease, a team of medical workers reached the affected villages on Wednesday on the instructions of the district administration. The cause of death of the children is being investigated.
According to the information given in writing to the district administration by Sanjay Kisku of World Tribal Akhil Abhon Organization, many children of villages like Jolo, Bairago, Sarmi, Sidler, Dando etc. of Bada Sindri Panchayat are suffering from this disease. Sanjay Kisku has told that the age of all the deceased children was less than 10 years. Here, politics has also started on this matter. Godda MLA Amit Mandal has said that the area comes under the constituency of CM Hemant Soren, but the district administration is unaware of the disease spreading among children of primitive tribe families. This is a very unfortunate situation.
